Based on extraordinary true events, The Chess Player is a suspenseful wartime drama of survival, strategy, and resilience. Fleeing the Spanish Civil War, renowned chess champion Diego Padilla relocates to Paris with his family, only to find himself falsely accused of espionage and imprisoned by the Nazis. Trapped in a deadly game of wits with a prison commandant obsessed with chess, Diego must rely on his intellect and courage to endure. Winner of more than 35 international awards, including Best Picture at the Golden Oniros International Awards, this acclaimed film will be followed by a special Q&A with producer Juan Antonio Casado and a complimentary reception.
